Meeting Ernest

After an exhaustive day and a half of flying part way around the world, on my "magnificent flying machine", i was here, the first stage of my journey. The port of Montevideo, it would be here that me and my camera would become trigger happy, snapping everything and nothing, the joy of digital.

Waiting patiently in the coach that picked us all up, we were all eager to see and inspect the vessel that would be our home, our transport, our means through the frozen ocean to Antarctica. We walked along the docks, watching huge containers being hoisted with great ease onto their desired vessel for shipment, and around the corner on stacked containers, there she was, bright red and white glistening in the South American sun. She looked pretty impressive, and on first accounts well up to the job in hand.
